Battery Module Housings, Shelves & Rack Hardware
The structural sheet metal that goes inside a battery cabinet: module housings, end plates, cell shelves, rack rails, separators and mounting brackets — fabricated to the module drawing so modules drop in, bolt down and stack without rework.
The Metal Inside the Battery Cabinet
Energy storage cabinets are usually specified from the outside in — IP rating, paint, door hardware. The parts that decide whether the build actually works are the ones inside: the shelf that has to carry a module without deflecting, the end plate that keeps a stack square under clamping load, and the rail that has to line up across three bays.
We fabricate those parts from the same drawings you use for the cabinet shell, so one supplier holds one set of tolerances. Modules are heavy and hole positions are cumulative — a 0.3 mm error in the first shelf becomes 3 mm across ten shelves, and the last module will not bolt down.

| Materials | SPCC 1.0-3.0 mm, SGCC/SECC galvanized, SUS304 for humid or coastal sites |
| Forming | Press brake forming with formed stiffening ribs and return flanges |
| Tolerance | ±0.15 mm hole-to-hole on module fixing patterns, tighter on request |
| Load design | Shelf deflection checked against your module mass; rib depth set by span |
| Finish | Powder coat in any RAL, zinc plating, or bare galvanized for internal parts |
| Hardware | PEM nuts and studs, floating nuts and rivet nuts pressed to the manufacturer specification |
| Assembly | Shelves, rails and brackets can ship as kitted sub-assemblies ready to bolt in |
| Marking | Laser-etched or labelled part numbers per position for site identification |
| Packing | Flat-packed with edge protection; parts can be palletised by cabinet position |
The parameters above are representative of typical projects in this category. Your drawing defines the final specification, and every quotation states the scope it covers.
Popular Configurations We Manufacture
Every size and option is customised to your drawing. Use a configuration below as a starting point for your enquiry.
Battery Module & Cell Housings
Boxes and trays that hold cells or modules, with locating features and vent paths.
| Material | SPCC / SECC 1.0-2.0 mm |
| Key features | Fold-over edges, locating tabs, vent slots |
| Finish | Powder coat or zinc plating |
Shelves, Rails & Separators
Structural parts that carry module weight and keep stacks aligned across a bay.
| Load per shelf | Typically 25-60 kg depending on span |
| Stiffening | Formed ribs and return flanges |
| Interface | Fixing pattern matched to your module drawing |
End Plates, Brackets & Busbar Supports
Clamping end plates and supports that hold stacks square under load.
| Material | SPCC 2.0-3.0 mm, SUS304 for wet areas |
| Flatness | Checked before assembly |
| Insulation | Coating barrier where isolation is required |
Materials, Finishes & Customisation
Material choice
| Cold-rolled SPCC | 1.0-3.0 mm — best cost and forming accuracy for internal structure |
| Galvanized SGCC / SECC | 1.0-2.5 mm — bare-metal corrosion protection inside the cabinet |
| Stainless SUS304 | 1.0-2.0 mm — high humidity, coastal and washdown environments |
Finish and protection
| Powder coating | Internal parts are usually coated in the same batch as the cabinet body |
| Zinc plating | Applied to small brackets, rail fixings and fasteners |
| Edge protection | Deburring plus coating coverage on cut edges in the corrosion path |
Assembly level
| Components | Individual shelves, rails and brackets shipped flat |
| Sub-assembly | Shelves supplied pre-built with pressed inserts and hardware fitted |
| Kitting | Parts packed and labelled by cabinet position to speed site assembly |
How This Moves Through the Workshop
Your module and cabinet drawings are reviewed together so hole patterns, rib depths and stacking clearances agree before cutting. Flat patterns are nested and laser cut, shelves and end plates are formed, ribs and returns are checked against the drawing, then parts are coated, hardware is pressed and sub-assemblies are built. Every batch is checked for hole-to-hole position and shelf flatness before it leaves the workshop.
- Drawing review with DFM feedback before production release
- Fiber laser cutting of the complete flat pattern in one set-up
- CNC press-brake forming, welding and grinding
- Coating applied before gaskets, hardware and glass are fitted
- First-article and sample inspection recorded for each batch

Common Questions
We supply the fabricated metal only — housings, shelves, end plates, rails and brackets. Cells, modules, busbars, BMS and the electrical assembly remain with you, and that boundary is stated on every quotation.
All shelves in one bay are nested and cut from the same program in one set-up, so the hole pattern is identical part to part. Cumulative error across a stack therefore comes from assembly, not from the parts. A first-article report showing hole-to-hole position can be supplied.
Capacity depends on span, material thickness and rib depth rather than on a fixed number. Send us the module mass and the available depth and we will size the rib so deflection stays inside your limit.
Internal structure is usually powder coated in the same batch as the cabinet body, or zinc plated where parts are small or need a conductive surface. In humid or coastal installations the shelf and rail set is often switched to SUS304.
